About the Obanye Nation
The Obanye Nation is a sovereign tribal nation descended from the ancient Tuscarora, Powhatan, Anuak, Akan, Kushite, and Moorish peoples — a proud tapestry of African royal lineage and Indigenous American heritage. Our ancestors endured displacement, enslavement, and cultural erasure, yet through resilience and determination, they preserved our identity and values for generations to come.
The name “Obanye” reflects our philosophy of strength, unity, and honoring the legacy already preserved. We believe in strengthening what our ancestors began — a cultural revival and self-determination in the modern era. Our mission is to restore our rightful place among sovereign peoples of the world, to celebrate and protect our traditions, and to provide leadership and opportunity for future generations.
